Basics are one of the key essentials to have in your wardrobe to ensure that your style will last, these basics are so important because they are basically the core of your wardrobe (no pun intended). The point of basics is to have clothing that won't go out of date if you want to switch up your style a bit. The idea is that these core pieces will always blend nicely with your clothes so that you don't have to go out and buy a completely new wardrobe again.
Once you have these specific items the possibilities are endless when it comes to your wardrobe. In my recent blog posts, you have been following along as I've gone on a shopping adventure and created my capsule wardrobe. All of the new basics and some of the old basics I already had will be included in this post, so you will see how all of them will enhance my wardrobe.
Here's a list of the basics that you will need for a versatile wardrobe:
-T-shirts
-Camisoles
-Jeans
-Leggings
-Shorts
-Skirts
-Jackets
And here is a list of where I got all of my basics and how much I paid for them:
-T-shirts: Uniqlo neutral tees $12
I bought two tees from Uniqlo about a year ago, and I love them just as much as I did the day I bought them. This is just one of them but I can do so much with both of them because they match with so many things! For $12 dollars each they were a steal because their quality feels like it's worth way more. Neutral colors have been my go-to lately and I don't plan on going back because of how great they work in my wardrobe.
-Camisoles: Xhilaration -Target's brand
This top was actually given to me by a friend, so I didn't buy it. But I would guess that the price of it ranged from 10 to 12 dollars. It's super cute and it matches with basically anything. Target is definitely a good place to look if you're on the hunt for camisoles.
-Jeans: Old Navy $12.99, Forever 21 online $24.95!
I'm seriously obsessed with jeans. Skinny, boyfriend, mom jeans, you name it! My two favorite pairs of jeans are here because not only were they the best prices, they have lasted me quite a good amount of time without a single rip or tear. If you're looking for a simple pair of jeans that you can wear with anything, Old Navy is the best place to buy them. These ones I actually bought online, and I think that the deals are even better. As for Forever 21, I typically don't buy clothes from Forever 21 because of their low-quality and the fact that they're a fast fashion brand, but I've got to hand it to Forever 21 and the jeans from their online store. They are seriously great quality and they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend Forever 21's online store jeans if you're looking for a cute pair of mom jeans!

-Leggings: Aerie $12-$15
I never expected Aerie to have some of the best leggings I've ever had. They are a wonderful price, and of course, they match with everything, but I think the thing I love about them most is that they are not see through, and they do not tear or snag easily. Take a trip to Aerie and you'll see what I mean!
-Shorts: Nordstrom Rack (Left side: $18.58) (Right side: $30.97)
I took my first trip ever to Nordstrom Rack, and I got some of the best shorts! I will be holding on to both of these guys for a VERY long time.
-Skirts: Nordstrom Rack: $26.97, Target: $15
I have never been much of a skirt wearer until this year. I learned that there is so much you can do with some skirts, like wear them with graphic tees and your favorite sneakers for example. I absolutely love the two that I bought and I plan to create lots of cool outfits with them!
-Jackets: Dark wash denim jacket from SHEIN for $19
I usually don't buy clothes from stores like Shein because the quality tends to not be very good, but to my surprise, this denim jacket has been a great addition to my wardrobe. I love wearing it with these pieces!

There are a lot of nice places to buy some quality basics for a good price, but ultimately, it's not about buying a ton of basics for dirt cheap! It’s about investing a solid amount of money on those basic pieces that will last a good amount of time. Basics are a key essential to creating a style that will last!
